How To Draw A Woman Walking
Liz Mitchell of Waco, TX, was left paralyzed from the neck down after falling from a balcony in August 2012. Even after being told she would never walk again, Mitchell fought to prove doctors wrong.
Shocking everyone, Mitchell took her first steps just months after her tragic accident. It's been a long, strenuous recovery period for her and her now-husband Brian, whom she had recently started dating at the time of her injury. He stood by her side while she recouped, and they fell in love. She's now walking on her own, only occasionally needing the help of a cane.
Mitchell has proven doctors wrong again, and she's now expecting her first child, a girl. "It's truly incredible to think I could go from being in a coma to being pregnant," she told NBC.
Even though she's still dealing with paralysis, she can feel her little one kick. And she's loving every moment of it. "The baby is only making me stronger," she says. Talk about a miracle! The couple's baby girl is due this Thanksgiving and will be named Dorothy Marie, appropriately meaning "Gift from God." Congrats to the parents-to-be!
